What Does God’s Word Say About The Tithe?
A braham tithed unto Melchizedek, Isaac tithed, His son Jacob and many others also even before the law was given. Many Christians do not tithe because they have been taught that they are not under the law, but under grace. While this is a true statement, God did not institute the tithe to bring us under the law, but to get blessings to His children. Abraham tithed before the law, and God blessed him supernaturally. We’re under grace that we might establish the law; not turn from it. Jesus said that He didn’t come to do away with the law, but to fulfill it. Because He fulfilled it, we are to establish it.
A It’s also interesting to note that throughout the Gospels we find Jesus watching very intently people bringing their tithes and offerings to the temple (Mark 12:41-44). If tithes were done away with the arrival of Jesus, why was He watching so carefully and taking note of everyone and their giving? Hmmm…..
Recent Tithing Testimony
Tithing is covenant with God and partnership with your church. In your church, it’s impossible to serve and do everything inside the ministry. But by tithing, you can be a part of everything that happens within the ministry.
Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
- Malachi 3:10
I never would have been able to tithe the first million dollars I ever made if I had not tithed my first salary, which was $1.50 per week. ~ John D. Rockefeller
