MMany years ago the Lord gave Pastor Greg’s father, Dr. James R. Bruce, a strategy for foreign missions. This strategy is summarized in the phrase, “World Evangelism through the Establishment of Local Churches”.
This strategy is designed to work with nationals which are leaders already in the countries to be evangelized. The strategy calls for the training of local leadership until they are ready to Pastor their own church. Then we support the pastors for two years. This enables the pastors to concentrate on reaching people and building their church. After two years, their church will be ready to become self supportive and this process is repeated with other leaders.
After twenty years God has really blessed the work with more than two hundred Hope Churches. Our director over these churches is Pastor Jessie Ramos. Pastor Jessie has trained eight key Pastors as regional directors to help mentor these churches and continue to start new churches.
We are very excited about the new Bible School that was launched on January 2005 in the Hope Church San Pedro. This Bible School program is designed for the continual advance training of our existing pastors as well as the foundational training of our future pastors.
The Lord has opened up more doors for us to reach out into Asia and other countries. It is exciting to see all that God is doing as these Hope Churches continue to aggressively reach people, train leaders and start more churches. Our goal is to fulfill the Great Commission with the tools and ideas the Lord has given us . . .
